Reading is the best place to live in the UK, according to a new report from PricewaterhouseCoopers and Demos.
The ‘Good Growth Index’ is based on a wide range of measures of quality of life – not all of them economic – including the health of the population, availability of jobs, affordability of housing, commuting times, and income inequality.
Overall, medium-sized cities performed best in the report, providing the best economic opportunities while remaining pleasant to live in.
Within London, the highest-ranking borough was Wandsworth, while the lowest was Newham.
