The Misery Index adds the year-on-year change in a country’s cost of living (ie, consumer price inflation) to its unemployment rate. Together these give a snapshot of the overall unhappiness level amongst that country’s citizens. Here we show the top and bottom ten Misery Index scores among some of the world’s leading nations.
