Chart of the week: It’s a terrible life

It’s not surprising that the public has a low opinion of the banking industry, given how it’s usually portrayed by Hollywood. The vast majority of major films to feature a finance sector since 1981 focused on bad behaviour in sectors such as trading and leveraged buy-outs, according to this chart from Deutsche Bank.

It’s all a far cry from It’s A Wonderful Life and its sympathetic portrayal of the good deeds done by a small-town banker.
