It’s a busy week for corporate news, with company results, US consumer confidence and UK house prices.

On Tuesday, we get half-year results from Irn Bru maker AG Barr. In July, the beverages company issued a profit warning, so investors will be keen for an update on the outlook.
We also get half-year figures from motoring group, the AA. The company has been trying to turn itself around after several tough years, and the share price has risen steadily in recent months after bottoming out in early July. Can the recovery continue? We’ll find out on Tuesday.
On the economic front, Tuesday brings us a snapshot of US consumer confidence. With wages rising and mortgage costs falling, consumers in America are in pretty good shape, and this has been reflected in recent readings.
And on Friday, we get the latest on UK house prices from Nationwide. This is likely to show that the gentle slowdown in UK property prices has continued, with prices UK-wide now falling once inflation is taken into account.
