In the UK this morning, soft drinks maker Britvic reports its full-year results. We’ve also got figures from wealth manager Brewin Dolphin and pub company Marston’s.
But a trading update from British American Tobacco is more likely to grab the headlines.
The tobacco industry is in upheaval at the moment. Just as the sector was starting to embrace vaping as a potential alternative to traditional cigarettes, the new products have run into concerns about side-effects and their role in encouraging young people to take up the habit.
If vaping is shut down as a pathway to revenue growth, then the risk is that Big Tobacco –       traditionally a big dividend payer – might have to start cutting its generous payouts. So income investors will be paying close attention.
In the US meanwhile, there’s a slew of economic data as several reports are released ahead of the Thanksgiving celebration on Thursday.
We’ll be getting the latest weekly jobless claims figures, the latest survey of manufacturing activity in the Chicago area, and durable goods orders for October.
